Come Home to the Library
YORK -- As a child, Marc Laucks often visited Martin Library in downtown York. He remembers gazing at the many rows of books, hoping one day they would all be his. Laucks got his wish. Of course, the books in the library do belong to him, and to you, and to each one of us.
Today Laucks, now president of a print management firm in York, often visits Martin Library as a patron, a supplier and a volunteer. He laughs as he recalls his childhood ambition. “That’s what’s so great about the public library. You own it, and so do I.”
“Marc is unreservedly helpful,” says Bill Schell, director of Martin Library. “There’s never any hesitation; his energy and imagination are unbelievable. He did our annual report and is a member of our GO! committee. They planned our fall line-up of exhibits, programs and entertainment for the entire family. Our fall theme is ‘Come Home to Your Library,’ and Marc created the mailing piece celebrating the opening of the series.” To help publicize the series, Laucks developed a mailing piece featuring a pop-up house that publicized the library’s fall programming.
This fall, at Martin Library, for example, you can see an apron display with poignant stories of the women who wore them, hear cat therapist Carole Wilbourn on “Caring for the Total Cat,” or watch the Disney-Pixar movie, “Cars.” For all the details on these programs at Martin and the programs throughout the library system, visit http://www.yorklibraries.org and click events.
“Come home to the library,” says Laucks. “All these offerings belong to you, too.”

Growth + Innovation = Move for Information Services Group
HARRISBURG, PA -- When the Pennsylvania Lottery wants to offer players and retailers the latest technological innovations, when Sovereign Bank’s Benefits Consulting group wants to provide an array of services for its clients, and when the Pennsylvania Dental Association wants to process insurance benefits for members at lightning speed, they turn to Harrisburg-based Information Services Group.
Though ISG keeps a low profile, it has been providing business solutions for more than 20 years. Increasingly, ISG customers come to ISG for customized software to help their businesses streamline operations and exceed sales goals. More demand means more growth, more employees, and more space. That’s why ISG has moved to larger quarters at 1301 Fulling Mill Rd., Suite 2000, Middletown, PA 17057. On Wednesday, March 19, from 3-6 p.m., ISG will officially celebrate its new location at an Open House.
Gilbert “Gil” Davis, CEO of Pennsylvania Dental Association Insurance Services, Inc plans to attend the Open House. “ISG took on all of our ITT challenges,” says Davis, “giving us state-of-the-art technology and function and our clients love the 24/7 access.”
Providing accurate and timely information is the hallmark of all the ISG products.
At the Pennsylvania Lottery, ISG provides the Lottery with sales reports in real time. “Fifteen seconds after a packet of tickets is delivered or purchased, the Pennsylvania Lottery knows.” says Larry Graves, ISG president and CEO. “And, so does the Lottery ticket retailer.” This kind of information translates into success for the Pennsylvania Lottery.
In fiscal year 2006-2007, for example, Pennsylvania Lottery sales totaled more than $3.07 billion, and the contributions from these sales provided more than $949 million for programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians. Says Glenn Shaffer, manager of the Pennsylvania Lottery and Information Services, “The services ISG provides to the Pennsylvania Lottery are very important to us and to our retailers across the Commonwealth.”
One of ISG’s software products, the Retailer Navigator, provides the Pennsylvania Lottery and its retailers with immediate sales and inventory data. With this information, both the Lottery and the retailers can adjust offerings according to what games people are buying in which locations. Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell described this aspect of the Retailer Navigator as a “… tool the Lottery can employ to share information and effectively communicate with the lifeblood of the Pennsylvania Lottery – its valued partners, the retailer network.”
ISG serves not only huge state agencies, such as the Pennsylvania Lottery, but businesses in banking, retail, distribution, and more. Because of ISG’s strategic partnerships across business and government, ISG CEO, Larry Graves, expects the company’s Open House to attract a “Who’s Who” list of business and civic leaders.
ISG provides its clients with a full range of support and management software logically engineered, easy to use, and affordable. Its applications incorporate wireless devices, handheld computers, desktop and web-based applications to seamlessly collect, warehouse, report on, and manage critical data. ISG solutions grow with your business. For more information, visit http://www.isg4results.com.
